Online Therapy Helps Parents After Miscarriage
The University Hospital of Muenster (UKM) offers psychological assistance to parents who are grieving after a miscarriage. An on-line therapy may also participate in parents who have lost their child shortly after pregnancy. For those interested there is now an open office hours via chat. There they can learn about the therapies and to ask general questions that relate to the loss of the child during pregnancy.
The on-line therapy consists of ten writing assignments that are done over a period of five weeks. In the first phase dealing with the loss of the participants, explained the psychotherapist, who developed the project. In the second phase, they write a supporting letter to an imaginary friend who has experienced the same thing. Thus, a new perspective should be taken on the loss. In the third phase involves a reactivation of a social network.
